CORONAVIRUS AND GOVERNMENT MEASURES

The Government reviewed the proposal of the Commission for Infectious Diseases and on 5th of April, adopted additional measures for protection of public health and protection of all citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia, in order to reduce the number of newly infected and reduce the burden on health workers, in order to successfully deal with the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

1. The new restrictive measures that are referred to all citizens of NMK:

  • Extension of the ban and the special regime of movement to all citizens on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia in the period from 20:00 to 05:00 the next day, starting from April 6th (Tuesday) to April 20th, 2021.
  • Citizens who live in residential buildings for collective housing and who have pets, can take out their pets from 22:00 to 23:00h, up to a maximum of 100 meters from the building where they live. 
  • Citizens who have scheduled immunization just before the start of the special regime of movement are allowed to return to their homes, with the proof of immunization.

2. Measures related to the private entities:

  • Complete ban for visitors-guests in all catering facilities (cafes, restaurants, bars, clubs) and other facilities that provide catering services, as well as in the catering facility / catering unit in the catering facilities for accommodation (hotel, motel, hostel, boarding house and other accommodation facility) or at gas stations, and those catering facilities that prepare and sell food can sell in an alternative way (online or by phone, etc.) and deliver or enable take away order outside of the catering facility (via stand / counter) starting from April 7, 2021, (Wednesday) until April 20, 2021.
  • Exceptions to this are the catering facilities at the International Airport "Skopje" and the Airport "St. Apostle Paul” in Ohrid, as well as the entities in the catering facilities for accommodation (hotel, motel, hostel, boarding house and other accommodation facility).
  • Complete ban on visitors / guests in all betting shops, i.e. the reception of visitors and the work of the betting shops to be enabled exclusively by performing a take away, i.e. the catering facility / part in the betting shops, as well as in the casinos, to be closed for visitors, starting April 7, 2021 (Wednesday) through April 20, 2021.
  • Complete ban for visitors-guests in all gyms, fitness clubs, sports centers and gyms intended for exercise starting from April 6, 2021 (Tuesday) until April 20.
  • It is forbidden to organize, hold and attend / participate in any kind of seminars, trainings, workshops, courses, conferences and other events of this type, from 06.04.2021 to 20.04.2021.

3. The special regime of movement:

  • Companies that are registered to preform night work shifts are obliged to obtain special movement permits. The permits are with limited movement and they are valid only for the person in whose name it is issued. Companies are obliged to enter the form on their memorandum, signed and stamped by the authorized person (Manager, Director etc.).
  • Registered employers who have night shift workers, are obliged to inform the State Labor Inspectorate in accordance with our law, in working conditions during curfew, the Ministry of Interior and to send the permit to info_zpvrsm@gs.gov.mk.
